Whatever business you are in, as an employer you risk exposing your company to damaging financial penalties. At Hornet Solutions Ltd (HSL) we focus on taking the sting out of employment matters. We can assess your risks and provide pragmatic advice and/or implement solutions with you. We are not ‘ivory tower’ legal advisers; our consultants have had extensive practical experience and understand that the key focus always has to be your business.

We are a small HR/Employment Law Consultancy that focuses on providing excellent customer service and down-to-earth, practical advice. Our focus is small to medium businesses and we have tailored our service to meet what our customers told us were their requirements.

Director HR/Employment Law Karen Woodbridge

Karen established Hornet Solutions Ltd in 2006.

She is a Chartered Member of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) and has a Masters level Employment Law qualification, ACEL, which is recognised by the Bar Council and Law Society.

She has worked in City-based multi-national corporations for over 15 years, where she specialised in “people issues”, firstly as a Change Management Consultant and then as a Human Resources Specialist.

On a voluntary basis, she has provided advice to Citizens' Advice Bureau (CAB) employment advisers and was an advisor to Destiny, a charity to help disabled individuals start up in business.

Karen strongly believes that HR and employment law need not be complicated, time consuming or costly.  Awareness is always the first step and then implementing a few basic policies and procedures can provide an immense return on investment for SME’s. But prevention is always better and much cheaper than cure.

Director Health and Safety Grahame Clarke

Grahame has worked in various sized City businesses. Working alongside senior HR teams, he has developed a fundamental understanding of business as well as the essentials of employment law and health and safety practices.

He has the Advanced Certificate in Health and Safety qualification from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and is an Technician member of IOSH and holds the Nebosh Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health. Additionally, he had health and safety duties during his time in the RAF Volunteer Reserve and with young people aged 13-20 involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

Now his focus is Health and Safety for Hornet Solutions’ clients, where he enjoys debunking many common myths about health and safety (such as “it has to be expensive and complicated”). He focuses on the business benefits good health and safety processes can deliver and avoids jargon and unnecessary bureaucracy.
